Installation Preparation
1.Prepare the necessary tools: squeegee, utility knife, heat gun, spray bottle (optional), cleaner (optional), slip solution (optional), etc.
2.Before installation, thoroughly clean the application area. Remove dirt, grease, and dust from edges and gaps. For a full vehicle wrap, a team of at least 3 people is recommended. If possible, polish the paint surface before installation.
Installation Process
1.Select the material and measure the dimensions of the application area. Cut the material 5–20 cm larger than the actual area.
2.Position the cut material against the application area to confirm proper alignment. Peel off the backing paper and apply the film according to the pre-aligned position. For large areas such as the roof, peel the backing gradually while applying. Work slowly from one side to the other.
3.Use a professional squeegee and work in a radial pattern, pressing outward from the center while applying the film. Ensure no air bubbles remain. For curved areas or near edges, use a heat gun to gently heat and stretch the film as needed. When wrapping front and rear bumpers, first heat and stretch the film to secure the horizontal position, then work on the upper and lower edges.
4.After application, use a specialized cutting tool to separate material around movable parts and trim excess material at wrapped edges. Use a squeegee to press the film edge into gaps around movable parts, or fold it inward for a clean, secure finish.
5.Approximately 12 hours after installation, inspect the entire vehicle for air bubbles, shrinkage, or edge lifting. Address any issues promptly.
6.Once satisfied, keep the vehicle indoors for approximately 24 hours to ensure proper adhesion between the adhesive and the paint surface.
Color Change Film – General Knowledge & FAQ
1.Color change film can be applied using either the dry method or the wet method. For wet application, do not add any detergent, as it may compromise the adhesive. Use clean water only as a slip solution.
2.When the temperature is below 20°C (68°F), indoor installation with continuous heat gun assistance is recommended. Cold weather makes the film harder and more brittle, so stretch it moderately and control the tension carefully. Installation difficulty increases in cold conditions. The recommended application temperature is around 25°C (77°F). In summer, if the paint surface is too hot from direct sunlight, do not apply the film immediately. Move the vehicle to a shaded area and wait until the surface returns to room temperature.
3.The film must be applied to undamaged original paint. Do not apply film to surfaces that have been repainted, rusted, or are made of leather, suede, fabric, adhesive, matte, or orange-peel textured surfaces, or to paint that is damaged.
